What is ReStore?
ReStore is a retail outlet selling new and used building supplies and home products to the public at deeply discounted prices.  ReStore is operated as a fund raising program of Habitat.  At ReStore, home owners select from an array of new and used products such as building supplies, doors, windows, appliances, home products, furniture, paint flooring, lighting, home products, electrical, plumbing items, and home electronics.  The selection is large and changes daily!

Who benefits from ReStore?
All proceeds from ReStore support Longview Habitat for Humanity, funding the construction of new homes.  Consumers  benefit by having access to affordable building supplies and home products.  ReStore benefits the environment  by diverting thousands of tons of material from local landfills.  "Friends don't let friends fill landfills!"    Leftover building material from the construction of homes is often discarded, as are appliances and furnishings.  ReStore serves as a clearinghouse for these items, matching leftover products with shoppers who do not mind a limited selection in exchange for discounted prices while supporting a local cause.

How are ReStore prices set?
ReStore is not a thrift store or garage sale, but a fund raising program of Longview Habitat for Humanity.  ReStore proceeds are used to build homes.  ReStore also funds the operating cost of ReStore's 10,000 square foot, two story merchandising area, dock, parking lot, yard, and dumpster.  ReStore prices are deeply discounted and approximately half of the comparable retail price.  Used and damaged items are discounted further.  Collectibles are priced competitively at fair market value.  Donations that cannot be sold or used are recycled.

Who donates to ReStore?
Merchandise sold by LHFH ReStore is donated from building supply stores, builders, contractors, demolition crews, and from individuals who wish to show their support for the mission of Longview Habitat for Humanity.  According to Workbench Magazine, 85% of the materials in an average home can be recycled or reused. A sincere desire to raise funds for the construction of safe, affordable housing has led many committed local Longview businesses and individuals to donate surplus goods. Please consider your role as a donor or volunteer, as much is needed.  Your donations support a commendable cause and are tax deductable.
