Longview Habitat for Humanity
The Habitat ReStore is a 10,000 square foot, two-story warehouse, dock, and yard full of donated new and used building materials and products sold to the general public at reduced prices.

Sales proceeds fund the work of Longview Habitat for Humanity.

All donations are tax-deductible.

ReStore's goal is to help the Longview community by recycling new and used building materials into the housing stock of Longview and surrounding areas. ReStore diverts tons of usable materials from landfills while providing low-cost building materials to homeowners, landlords, and businesses. The ReStore also provides many volunteer opportunities.

Help the environment while also helping to build more Habitat homes. The goal of Cans For Habitat is to recycle aluminum cans to raise much needed funds to help build homes with Longview Habitat for Humanity.

Cans for Habitat is a national recycling partnership between the Aluminum Association and Habitat for Humanity International. Aluminum cans are recycled by, and for, more than 600 participating Habitat affiliates across the country. The money earned goes directly to help build Habitat homes.

Since the program began in 1997, approximately 11.3 million pounds of aluminum cans have been recycled for the program which equivales to $4 million, all of which has gone directly to Habitat affiliates and the construction of more than 88 Habitat houses. Local affiliates, volunteers, recyclers, national and local retail outlets and civic organizations work together to "Make Every Can Count!"

When recycled, an aluminum can is worth about a penny.  Every penny helps and every can counts! Here are some ways Habitat affiliates are using the Aluminum Cans Build Habitat for Humanity Homes program to help build homes with families:
  •       1  can   ==== 1 nail
  •     29  cans ==== a shingle
  •   160  cans ==== a 2x2 stud
  •   732  cans ==== a roofing sheet
  • 1250  cans ==== 1 roll of insulation

Bring your aluminum cans to the Habitat ReStore at 300 West Tyler St.  Call (903) 758-4677 for more information.
